CM Capital Services Donates 1,192 Bags of Food for Three Square’s “Backpack for Kids Program”
Employees competed in a company-wide challenge called “Operation Feed a Needy Child” for needy Harley Harmon Elementary School students.

HENDERSON, Nev., (December 18, 2009) – With 45.5% of children in Clark County enrolled in a free lunch program at school, for many children, the food they receive at school is their only meal for the entire day.

CM Capital Services, through a company-wide challenge, has partnered with Three Square’s local “Backpack for Kids” program which provides kid-friendly, shelf-stable, bags of food to needy schoolchildren so they are able to bring enough food home in their backpacks to feed them through the weekend.

Employees were divided into teams and competed to see which group could assemble and bring in the most bags containing Three Square’s list of food items that could then be distributed to the schoolchildren.

“All year long, and especially during the holidays, it is important to remember that many people struggle with hunger every day of their lives,” commented Todd B. Parriott, Chief Executive Officer of CM Capital Services. “The fact that our team of employees is able to contribute to Three Square’s very worthy cause makes us feel like we are making a difference in the lives of these children.”

Harley Harmon Elementary School currently receives 60 bags a week from Three Square. CM Capital Services’ donation should sustain the school’s supply with enough food to provide to needy children for 20 weekends.

Six teams consisting of approximately 160 employees competed on a point system over a two-week period, with completed bags earning teams extra points, and additional food items earning bonus points. The winning team racked up 391 points, contributing more than 374 bags.
