Community Corner
At CM Capital Services we believe that being an exceptional corporate citizen means sharing in the responsibility of social, cultural, charitable, and economic development in the areas our employees work and live.
To fulfill our mission, the Company has established "Community-Minded", an awareness program to introduce opportunities for investing in our community through corporate sponsorships and employee volunteerism.
CM supports the community through charitable donations, volunteerism, community partnerships, and sponsorships in the area of youth development in Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada. By focusing on this specific group, we believe we can make a significant impact.
Three Square
Approximately 45.5% of children in Clark County are enrolled in a free lunch program at school. In fact, for many children, the food they receive at school is their only meal for the entire day.
To help those in need, the employees of CM Capital Services partnered with Three Square, a non-profit organization that donates food to hungry families, to contribute to the “Backpack for Kids” program. In partnership with the Clark County School District, this program provides a supply of kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to needy children so they are able to bring enough food home in their backpacks to feed them through the weekend.
CM Capital Services’ efforts are helping the needy children of Harley Harmon Elementary School. Harmon Elementary School currently receives 60 bags of weekend food supplies every week. Support from employees resulted in a donation of 1,192 bags filled with “kid-friendly” food items, plus an additional 814 food items to be used for additional weekend food bags. This supply will sustain Harmon’s food supply for approximately 20 weekends. Event Photos
Goodie Two Shoes Foundation
CM Capital Services proudly participated in a recent Goodie Two Shoes event to support underprivileged children at a local Boys & Girls Club.
The Goodie Two Shoes Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides over 1,500 needy children in Southern Nevada with new shoes, socks, backpacks, school supplies, lunch, and a fun-filled day every October on Make a Difference Day.
CM Capital Services’ employees assisted children with sizing their feet, selecting new shoes, and picking out backpacks. It was a wonderful experience for the children and employees alike. Event Photos
America's Schools Recycling Program
CM Capital Services is an active participant in the America’s Schools Recycling Program, which refurbishes and sells used printer cartridges for the benefit of schools within Southern Nevada.
According to America’s Schools Recycling Program, over 300 million cartridges are thrown away each year, and each laser toner cartridge recycled saves three quarts of oil that is required to produce a new cartridge. Every cartridge that is discarded in our landfills takes over 1,000 years to decompose, and every year inkjet and laser cartridges account for over 200 million pounds of solid waste to our nation's landfills.
CM Capital Services is glad to support this organization and its commitment to supporting local schools while promoting a cleaner environment.
Opportunity Village
For nearly four years, CM Capital Services has partnered with Opportunity Village, known as “Las Vegas’ Favorite Charity,” for its document-shredding and disposal needs. Opportunity Village is the largest employer of intellectually disabled adults in Nevada, currently employing 750 individuals in various venues, while providing vocational training, employment and social recreation services that help make these individuals productive members of society. Opportunity Village offers on and off-site shredding methods, where 100% of destroyed documents are then recycled.
CM Capital Services supports the valuable efforts of this organization and the benefits Opportunity Village has given to disabled adults throughout the state.
